Went to Uncle Joe's in Fort Meyers this weekend. A route directly west, one hundred and twenty miles, that cuts just south of Lake Okeechobee and is known as "Alligator Alley." Some pictures follow! Be sure to click the "More" button when you get to the end of this page...


Lake Okeechobee, in the distance. At fourteen feet above sea level, it is regulated to keep the water level in the Everglades in check. When the Everglades are too low, water is released down canals from Okeechobee for hundreds of miles.
